Finished my second AR Carbine

1 Attachment(s)
This newer one (pictured on top) is an LMT lower and a Noveske N4 Light Low Profile upper. It has a Magpul CTR stock, Miad grip, and enhanced trigger guard.

The lower one is a complete Noveske N4 Light Low Profile.

I've only shot the complete rifle with irons. Some range trips are in order for aimpoint adjustments. The magnifiers are 2.5x Hendsoldts on pivot mounts allowing them to move to the side quickly when not needed.

Second purpose it serves is a full spare parts kit.

Picture is from a crappy cell.

:D

Interesting. I have not used the magnifiers yet, but I will see soon if they interfer with the standard charging handle.

Nice looking AR sir. You keep buying and building these sweet guns and then posting about them which makes me want to get more and more.

My wife says she hates this website because it gets me to spend so much money on guns.

This concludes my gun goals for the foreseable future. This year was a big year. I've felt like the financial/economic world has been coming apart since last August in slow motion.

2008 acquisitions:

2 Glock 30's + 10 mags
2 AR 15 Carbines + 32 mags
2 Ruger 22/45's + 10 mags
2 Ruger 10/22's + 10 mags

5000 rounds of 5.56 (M193 and M855)
6000 rounds of 22lr
2500 rounds of 45 ACP

Lots of accessories.

Checking off the firearms box and moving on. I wonder why between firearms and building a pantry I have not had very much money to save this year? :D

I'm unqualified to give an accurate opinion of them. No experience. I've heard "good" things.

I've spent a little time over on http://forum.saiga-12.com/ reading up, but not much.

Your purchases were indeed wise. At least thats what I tell myself about guns and ammo spending. I figure they are not gonna get any cheaper than they are today.

Your ar's look great.

Looking on gunbroker they seem to go for around $350 for the 223 with 16 " barrel. The 7.62*39 looks to be just slightly higher some times. Definitely worth looking into. Seems like if you want to use 30 round mags you have to switch out one foreign made part to a US part in order to be in compliance. That's just what I'm picking up initially.

Spending $700 and having 2 guns would be beautiful thing.

Thanks. Personal protection might be needed soon. I hope not, but feels good to know I have things on hand and enough to arm a couple other family members.

Own 5...best quality Russian Kalashnikov available...most accurate AK (except maybe the 74s), all calibers--reliable like Glocks. :rolleyes_m: Arm your entire family :smokin:

This model is one of the least expensive .308 autoloaders on the market and is my favorite:

Silver City I almost bought a Saiga 7.62 a couple weeks ago but decided against it because I was told normal AK mags do not work with these. Because of this I decided against it since Saiga mags seems to cost roughly 3x what an AK mag costs. Can AK mags be modified easily to work with Saigas?

I am still getting my Saiga 12 gauge once Centerfire Systems tells me they have one for me or once I get one at the next local gun show in October, whichever comes first. Sucks mags are so damn expensive for these and I will only buy maybe 3 10 round mags for it because of the cost.

Have you thought of going with an SBR/Silencer/Fulll Auto on either of these AR's? They are nice looking guns :)

Looks like people modify the gun with a bullet guide and change or file the magazine catch so the gun will work with both types of mags:

http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=28325

Modifying each mag looks like a poor choice.

Didn't want to do SBR or full auto. Too much hassel for me. Tax stamp, finger printing. I've heard for maching guns you submit to allowing the ATF to request (physically) to see the gun is in you possesion at any time?

I got the 14.5 with pinned flash hiders to bring the barrels to 16" for the most compact allowed without SBR paperwork.

I have a HK53 kit, and I think I will put up with the AFT requirements for the SBR and supressor. Not sure if I want the expense ond hassel of Full Auto yet. Althought, a 53 on full auto is a fire breathing dragon and can clear a nearby area at the speed of light!
My HK91 is staying in it's original configuration as my MBR, although it is brutally heavy... One of the things I like about modern AR's is the light weight. Even loaded down with gadgets they are lighter than a stock HK91!

Yes...what Scott said. Although there is a question about violation of some ATF regulations regarding rifles imported for "sporting" purposes--unless you add at least 10 U.S. manufactured parts (usually fire control parts)--so most guys convert to pistol grip configuration.

Or just buy the steel or polymer Surefire mags and fuggitaboutit...(for the record, I never said that and don't recommend it.)
